Treatment Process/Initial Evaluation Appointment

 

When you and your baby arrive at the
STAR Cranial Center for your evaluation
appointment, a practitioner will review the
physician’s prescription, conduct a thorough
evaluation, talk to you about your baby,
and discuss the STARband treatment
program. In most cases, the practitioner
will also take clinical photographs and a
scan using the STARscanner laser data
acquisition system. A STARscan will document
your baby’s head shape at the beginning of treatment and will serve as a reference throughout the entire treatment program. If you have insurance that requires prior authorization, you may be asked to schedule a return appointment when the paperwork is complete. Once you decide to proceed with STARband treatment, the practitioner
will email the STARscan to the manufacturer for a custom fabricated STARband for your baby..
